CBD Dosage: How Much, How Often & How To

It's time to clear the air. There is a lot of confusion around CBD and dosage. How much should I be taking, how often and which type of products work best for certain ailments? If you're new to CBD you probably have a laundry list of questions. And for good reason. CBD as a form of alternative medicine is a very new concept to many people. Its uses have yet to be fully realized and clinical trials are still being conducted on the hemp derived compound. In this article, we will take a closer look at the line of Goldleaf Spektrum CBD products and how we recommend you use them for maximum results.

Quality Is King

The first thing to keep in mind is that not all CBD products are made the same way. Just because something is labeled 1000mg doesn't mean that a 500mg product won't work better for you. A higher milligram strength doesn't always equate to a more effective product. Instead, it's important to understand how the CBD was extracted and whether the product contains an isolate, full spectrum or broad spectrum CBD formula.

Isolate vs Full Spectrum

We can't stress this enough! — Always check the ingredient list! At Goldleaf Spektrum we truly pride ourselves on the quality of our full spectrum CBD hemp products. Other products made using CBD isolate contain just that– CBD. Whereas full spectrum CBD products contain a variety of essential vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, protein, terpenes, flavonoids, fiber and cannabinoids. We believe that to truly feel the full effects of any CBD product full spectrum is what you'll want to use. CBD is one of 100+ cannabinoids found within the hemp plant. Therefore, a proper full spectrum product not only contains CBD but also CBG, CBC & CBN. Each of these cannabinoids have unique properties that impact the body in different ways. Using a full spectrum CBD product guarantees you’re consuming all of the primary cannabinoids from the hemp plant, not merely the single isolated CBD cannabinoid.

Then, there is the matter of extracting the cannabinoids from the hemp plants. While most brands opt for the cheaper CO2 method we chose ethanol extraction for a very specific reason. As a solvent, ethanol is highly efficient. Alcohols are polar in nature, allowing ethanol to form bonds with both water-soluble and oil-soluble plant compounds alike. By using an ethanol-based extraction method we’re able to extract more phytocompounds resulting in greater nutrient-density whereas carbon dioxide (CO2) can only dissolve the oil-soluble compounds. We believe this quality makes ethanol an excellent choice for our full spectrum CBD products.

The Variables

If you're completely new to CBD you probably have a list of different questions.. How much CBD should I take, when should I take my CBD, how frequently etc. etc. etc. The most important thing to remember is that there is no "one-size-fits-all" approach when it comes to dosing. There are numerous variables to consider when determining how much CBD to take. Age, sex, body type, and the specific ailments you're dealing with all play a significant role in how CBD will affect you.

General Dosage

If you're new to CBD we like to suggest easing into things. Slowly introduce CBD into your system and listen to your body. The effects of CBD are cumulative. Meaning, the more your body gets accustomed to CBD, the more you’re able to feel its effects. While some notice results in minutes it may take days before you’re able to see a positive shift in your body. Be patient, the wait is well worth it. Once you've grown accustomed to CBD consistent dosage is key. If you're not consistently taking CBD the then you won't consistently get good results. Plain and simple. Now that we've given you a general overview let's take an in-depth look at each of our products, what each is made for and how to use them.

CBD Oil Dosage

Formulated For: focus, relaxation, pain, inflammation, nausea, insomnia, stress, anxiety, digestive issues and epilepsy.

Our CBD oil is the ideal choice for those looking to achieve overall wellness. We recommend starting with 1 full dropper of oil per day and increasing your dosage as needed. Alternatively, you can experiment with micro-dosing. So, instead of taking your daily amount all at once, you would break it up throughout the day so your body is steadily absorbing CBD. Using our CBD oil is an easy process. Simply measure your desired dosage using the glass dropper and place the oil under the tongue. You want to hold the oil underneath your tongue for 1-3 minutes before swallowing as this allows CBD to properly enter the bloodstream via capillaries in the mouth.

CBD Salve Dosage

Formulated For: Muscle pain, chronic pain, acute pain, sore joints, inflammation arthritis, eczema and rashes.

If you're in pain and your goal is to target specific inflamed muscles our skin salve is the right product for you. For minor muscle soreness, you may only require a small dollop of salve once per day. Other, more serious conditions such as muscle spasms may require more rigorous administration. Again, remember to listen to your body and increase the amount and frequency of dosage as needed. Applying the CBD salve is very straightforward. Using a cosmetic applicator or your fingers scoop the desired amount from the jar and apply topically to sore muscles & joints. Rub in thoroughly.

CBD E-Liquid Dosage

Formulated For: Anxiety, pain, relaxation, stress, inflammation and insomnia

If you're looking for a fast-acting way to relax, vaping CBD E-Liquid is an excellent option. While you won't get the same effect a full spectrum product provides you can expect faster results due to higher bioavailability rates from inhalation of CBD. Although our eLiquids are designed for use with any refillable e-liquid vaporizer we suggest using a lower-powered device for maximum effectiveness.

In Conclusion

There are a multitude of different ways to consume CBD. Experimenting with topicals, tinctures, capsules, drinks and/or CBD E-Liquid is a great way to find out what works best for you. Just remember that we are all different. Our unique body types and genetic makeup impact the way CBD affects us but it's not rocket science. If you're consistent in administration and gradually increase dosage you can expect to see and feel positive long-term results :)
